The first session of The Islamic Conference of Ministers Responsible for Water

The first session of The Islamic Conference of Ministers Responsible for Water was held in March 2009 in Istanbul, Turkey on the sideline of the 5th World Water Forum to discuss ways of cooperation between the Islamic countries in all areas related to water. The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (which include 57 countries) is the umbrella organization for this conference.

The second session of The Islamic Conference of Ministers Responsible for Water

The second session of The Islamic Conference of Ministers Responsible for Water was held in March, 2012 in Istanbul, Turkey. The OIC Water Vision document was adopted at the Second Conference of Ministers Responsible for Water in Istanbul in 2012.

The third session of The Islamic Conference of Ministers Responsible for Water

The third session of The Islamic Conference of Ministers Responsible for Water was held on 17-19 May 2016 and Organized by SUEN in close cooperation with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and relevant institutions, at the third meeting, Egypt was able to obtain the membership of the Islamic Water Council, which consists of 15 members from the Organization and this membership is valid for two years until 2018 when the fourth ministerial meeting will be held.

The fourth Islamic Conference of Ministers Responsible for Water

It was agreed to hold the fourth Islamic Conference of Ministers Responsible for Water in Egypt.  The Islamic Water Council: the first meeting was held on in Istanbul on 15-16th of November 2017 and organized by the Turkish Water Institute (SUEN) under the Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs of Turkey in close collaboration with the OIC General Secretariat.
